Privacy policy
How Somro Global handles personal information you share with us through this website and by email. Last updated: 25 October 2026.
We keep this short because we collect very little. This website has no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers, and our fonts are served from our own server rather than a third party.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Somro BPO Services (Private) Limited, a company incorporated in Sri Lanka and trading as Somro Global. Our registered office is at No. 51/A, Fife Road, Colombo 05, Sri Lanka (“Somro Global”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

2. What we collect
When you use our contact form
- Your name, work email and company, the capability you are interested in (if you choose one), and your message.
When you email us
- Your email address, your message and anything you attach. This includes CVs and details you send us about a role.
When you visit the website
- Server logs: our hosting provider records technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs help keep the site running and secure.
- Spam protection: to stop spam, our contact form counts how many messages come from one connection, using a coded form of your network address that can't be reversed and expires within a day. Messages that look like spam may be marked for review. A person still reads every message.
We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health or financial details). Please don't include it in your message.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We don't sell your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.
4. Who we share it with
- Telegram: messages from our contact form are delivered to our team through a Telegram bot, so their content passes through Telegram's servers.
- IONOS: our website hosting and email provider. It stores the server logs described above and the emails you send us.
- Our team in Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, Australia and India, where they need it to answer you.
- Professional advisers or authorities, but only if the law requires it.
These providers act on our instructions and may only use your information to provide their service to us.
5. International transfers
Because our team and some providers are in different countries, your information may be handled outside the country you are in, including in Sri Lanka, where we are based, the United Kingdom, Australia and India, and by Telegram. Where the law requires it, we put appropriate safeguards in place for these transfers.
6. How long we keep it

7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong, or delete it;
- restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
- send it to you or another organisation in a portable format.
Email hello@somroglobal.com. We'll reply within 21 days. There is normally no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. We are based in Sri Lanka, so our regulator is the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka, under the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022. You can also complain to the data protection regulator where you live, for example:

- Australia: the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), oaic.gov.au
- India: the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
8. Security
The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS. Our messaging credentials are kept on the server, never in the pages you load. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it.
9. Children
This website is for businesses and job seekers. It isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
